Six Problem-Solving Steps
Challenge solutions should follow a specific problem-solving format:
-
Write what you know about the problem (the
facts)
-
Write what you are looking for in the problem
(the question(s))
-
Write ALL of your strategies
(Everything you do to try to solve the problem).
-
Write your solutions (the
answer(s)).
-
Explain how you checked your work. (Be
sure it's correct.)
-
Extend the problem by writing a new problem
based on the original. (This is so much fun and really adds to the
conversations.
