| Sullivan, Burgiel, Osinga; The Geometry Center, Univ. of Minnesota | |
| From the University of Minnesota's course in Computational Methods in Elementary Geometry, materials developed at the Geometry Center for teaching pre- and in-service teachers of high-school geometry interested in using technology in their classrooms. Internet skills: introduction to the Web, technical information; Classical Geometry: Introductory Questions for Geometer's Sketchpad; Monge's Theorem (Sketchpad lab); Peaucellier's Linkage (a simple toy). A Dynamical Systems lab uses Java applets; Symmetry and Patterns offers units on Introduction to Symmetries, Wallpaper patterns, and Orbifolds. With appendices (materials used in class, videotapes shown in the course); Software; and student projects: Napoleon's Theorem, Tessellations, the Golden Rectangle, Fibonacci Numbers, a Slice of Pi, Pascal, and Conjectures in Geometry. Most projects include several Geometer's Sketchpad sketches. | |
