This site contains downloadable, interactive computer files to accompany many papers
in the book, Geometry Turned On. Some files have been designed with explanations
to function as an interactive environment. Others are in the form just as they were used to produce
figures for the corresponding
paper in the book and so may require the paper for an explanation.
The downloadable files are either Geometer's Sketchpad files or Cabri Geometry II files.
- All files are available in a "universal" format usable by Macintosh or
Windows/DOS versions of the programs. Files names are in DOS format that is
usable by either version of the software.
- In addition, for some papers, files are optionally available in a Macintosh-only
version submitted by the authors
with longer, descriptive names chosen or else usable by earlier versions of the
software.
-
The Geometer's Sketchpad,
version 3.0 or later will open all the Sketchpad files. Some files may be opened
by earlier versions. If you do not have a copy of this version of Sketchpad, you can open
and manipulate the files by downloading the free
Demo Version.
-
To open the Cabri files, you need Cabri Geometry II, version 1.1.
The files are saved in the
Cabri(Text) format that is usable by both Macintosh and DOS versions of the software.
If you do not have a copy of this version of Cabri, you can open
and manipulate the files by downloading the free
Demo Version.
Files can be obtained three ways.

Each paper in the book has an individual page which can be reaching from the list
of titles on the
Table of Contents Page.
Almost all the papers are accompanied by downloadable files. A sampling of these files
have individual links on the paper's page.
If you click on the link to one of these files, then
Download all the files for a particular paper from the web page for that paper,
which can be reached
from the Table of Contents Page.
You will have a choice of two or possibly three versions.
- Files in universal format in a Zip archive.
These files can be used by either Macintosh
or Windows/DOS. To extract the files requires a utility to unzip the archive.
- Files in universal format in a Macintosh self-extracting archive,
encoded
in Binhex format. These files can be used by either Macintosh
or Windows/DOS but must be extracted on a Macintosh with a utility such as
Stuffit Expander (included with most Macintosh Web browsers).
- Optional Macintosh version.
For some papers, an additional Macintosh version is included,
either because the files have longer, explanatory names or else use an earlier version of
Cabri.
You can download all the files for the book at once from the links below. There is
a choice of three formats.
- All Files in universal format in a Zip archive.
These files can be used by either Macintosh
or Windows/DOS. To extract the files requires a utility to unzip the archive.
- Files in universal format in a
Macintosh self-extracting archive,
encoded
in Binhex format. These files can be used by either Macintosh
or Windows/DOS but must be extracted on a Macintosh with a utility such as
Stuffit Expander (included with most Macintosh Web browsers).
- Macintosh-only version.
When available, this substitutes the Macintosh files with long names for those with shorter,
DOS-style names. If Cabri files are available for an earlier version of Cabri, these files are
included along with the Cabri(Text) versions.
